Mammy Necklace by Black & Beech
We are so pleased to launch our MAMMY necklace!
As an Irish Mammy living in Wales both cultures refer to us matriarchs as Mami, Mammy and Mam. I wanted to create something for us as there is a lot of mum and mama march out there. Hope you love this.
Name necklaces emerged from black and Hispanic communities in New York during the 1970s and have firmly made their way into the mainstream lexicon at the intersections of jewellery and language. There’s a wonderful video tracing there roots here.
